Horned humans or horned creatures appear in all three games as the main protagonist Ico in ICO, the baby at the end of the game in Shadow of the Colossus and the griffin-like creature in The Last Guardian.

In IcoEdit

As depicted at the beginning of the game, children born with horns are said to be cursed and are feared by the people. As the tradition decrees, these children are to be taken away at their twelfth birthday by faceless horsemen. The only known location where horned children are taken is at the castle. They are then put into coffins until they become shadow creatures. Ico manages to escape his coffin when a tremor shakes it to the ground and breaks it open. Later in the game Ico must fight off all of these horned creatures coming from the coffins. The behavior of these horned shadows is aberrant at best; some of them attack Ico, only to flee at the sight of conflict while others fly in circles with each other, hardly noticing Ico. By the end of the game, Ico loses both horns to the Queen during their final confrontation.

In Shadow of the ColossusEdit

In the closing sequence, Wander is reverted to the form of a baby with horns. It is the first of the line of horned children, of which Ico is a descendant [1]. The baby is then raised by Mono in the Secret Garden. Horns can additionally be seen on some of the other colossi, though there is no evidence indicating if for a similar cause.

In The Last GuardianEdit

The game being still in progress, we can only consider the trailer, in which we see horns on the griffin-like creature Trico. We can only see one horn which could mean one was cut or still inside and not visible. The fact that the creature is chained and guarded may be proof that it is cursed, but it is to be taken lightly since the trailer may be completely different from the finished game.
